A look through the glass of heritage
The only online lungi shop in Bangladesh sells only handloom lungi. Dohar, Nawabganj, Keraniganj, three southern upazilas of Dhaka district and Sreenagar of Munshiganj. These areas are well known for its homemade weaving heritage, mostly for Lungi. Weavers sowing lungi for couples of decades. Recent days the number of handloom weavers is declining, due to high cost and decline of use. But the quality of the cloth is still remain high and weavers never compromise with quality.
”Nur-Abedin Lungi” is not a lungi seller but a quality keeper having promise to weavers and users. The name Nur-Abedin derived from the names of two traditional cloth trader, Nur Mohammad & Jaynul Abedin, they were relatives in law.
